WHY MY BLOG?…

First and foremost I have an imperative need to communicate with myself. I do so by writing my thoughts, my concerns and my feelings.

In a way, blogging for me is like writing some kind of an open journal, that I want to share with the world.

One day I realized how many people had my same views regarding today’s world events.

So, meanwhile they expressed to me how hopelessly and impotent they felt about not being able to do anything, to stop or even change the most unfortunate occurrences; I decided to find a way to break with this pattern of helplessness and feeling stuck, in a world I can’t control…

My way of fighting this ‘apparent impotence’, is by confronting it face to face, eye to eye.

With my own RIGHTEOUSNESS I recognize my own TRUTH, for what it is. 

Expressing to myself and to others my most unsettling feelings and thoughts, became my drive and my way.

Without any desire of sugar coating, uncompromising and with no intention to apologize for the way I feel or manifest things outwardly, has become part of my life style… 

Not even allowing anyone or any circumstance have the upper hand on my life and on my environment.

I want to be free and exert my right to do so, no matter the consequences.

If in the process I can empower others or make them identify themselves with my process and point of views, my goal will be more than accomplished.

For that, I will forever be grateful to the UNIVERSE and to ITS HIGHER POWERS; for allowing me to be an active force in its eternal development.

I was born in Venezuela. My parents were Holocaust survivors. The USA has been my country of choice and where I reside since many years ago.

As a child, raised in a household where both of my parents survived WWII, I had a very unique upbringing, that made me extremely conscious of the world around me. As well as made me follow more closely its events and consequences.

The resilience that nurtured in my parents and grandparents the willfulness to survive, is also imbedded in my DNA…

A great awareness of what freedom and justice really means, will always be part of my make up. Reason why, I promised to myself, that I will live my whole life to see those values prevail.

Even though I have lived great part of my life in the USA, being my family, on my father’s side, several generations of Americans, I do not and never will forget my Venezuelan roots.

For several years, during the decade of the 2000′s, I worked tirelessly with the US House of Representatives and also with the American and International press, bringing awareness on the Venezuelan issue and then current state of events.

My work for the Venezuelan cause was a labour of love and recognition for what the Venezuelan people did for the Jews that escaped Nazi Germany.

VENEZUELAN PEOPLE RESTORED OUR BELIEF AND FAITH, REMINDING US THAT THE HUMAN RACE WAS STILL HUMANE!

It’s almost impossible to recognize in the Venezuela of today some of those traits of its past… But I’m hopeful that one day the tides will change and the compassion and beauty, as well as the genuine happiness and spontaneous laughter of its natives, will once again be restored in their hearts and at the core of their society.

As well as I will be calling on the injustices and shortcomings of our world and mercilessly target those who abuse their power by creating misery and distress, I will also be creating as a filmmaker pieces that show the intrinsic beauties of our universe.

I passionately wish that my work as a writer and director of my films will bring hope and inspiration to our future.

My first production will be a series of short films in which a ‘magic realism’ prevails as the main aesthetic style and form of expression.

 

These shorts will also be published as picture books in English, Spanish and Mandarin.  

 

As time goes by, I will be updating this page and adding sites that will portray and inform of my other activities as a writer and filmmaker.
